Introducing Journey's Lower Elementary Teacher
My name is Jessica Bell and I feel so blessed to be joining The Journey! I felt the Lord call me into teaching in 2019 and have been pursuing my teaching degree up until my graduation in December 2023. Teaching is much more than a career to me; the opportunity to teach about Jesus is truly an answer to prayers. There have been so many open doors that have led me to The Journey, and I could not be more grateful. In the spring of 2023, I had the opportunity to volunteer once a week which gave me a chance to meet some of your kiddos. I am beyond excited to be with them again and many new faces as well!
Outside of school, I enjoy quality time spent with my family and friends. Some of my favorite pastimes are walks on the Pumpkinvine, reading, and cooking. My fiancé, Lincoln, and I attend Garden City Church in Elkhart, where we are also a part of the young adults group.
For the last four years I have been pursuing my education and now have a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education. This concentration has given me opportunities to meet students on their level and guide them academically at a pace they are most receptive to. Most of this work was done in small groups, an experience I feel will apply to the small student-to-teacher ratio at The Journey.
