We partner with parents in leading the next generation to develop critical thinking skills and deepen their theological understanding. Children will learn in an immersive and engaging environment where they take ownership of their academic achievements and developmental growth.

The Mission of The Journey Christian Academy

Philosophy

On this Journey of life we’re given the gift of childhood only once, and we want our children to be given the opportunity to truly experience it. With society rushing our kids to grow up, we’re providing them the chance to slow down- to learn at their own pace, to discover what interests them, to get messy, be creative, make friends and find joy in the day to day. We want to take the pressure off and let them just be kids while they still can.

Within this safe place of childhood, we will help our children to learn important life skills such as goal-setting, self-discipline and how to work in and among their peers in a structured setting. Each child will learn responsibility and accountability in an age appropriate environment. We know that education is important, and our children will learn to succeed and thrive academically in a mastery based, literature-rich program that emphasizes knowledge retention over simple memorization.

Most importantly Jesus should be a part of our everyday lives, biblical principles and God’s love for His creation will be interwoven into the daily routine so that seeking Him becomes second nature in our kids lives. Ultimately our goal is to raise good people who are not only smart, but can think for themselves, are strong and driven and equipped with the skills to live in our world, without conforming to it. This end goal is important, but will not overpower the importance of The Journey it takes to get there!

Where Our Journey Began

We are you. We are normal everyday moms and dads who have a desire for something more for our children's educational experience. More than just academics and long days in small classrooms with only a few hours to breathe life into our children in the evenings. We looked at our quickly changing world, a great unknown, and weighed it against the options we had. We were left desiring so much more, so we decided to pave our own path and create our own learning environment! How hard could it be? With no background in education, but a whole lot of motivation, we came together and formed the Journey, one conversation at a time. We continually prayed for guidance and told God we would continue walking through the doors if he opened them... and they kept opening, one after another. We believe God brought this school to life and we are honored to be His hands and feet as we serve the next generation of Christian leaders!

Statement of Faith

At The Journey, it is our desire to fellowship with families that share our Biblical worldview and principles.

  •   We believe the Bible to be the absolute truth, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
  •   We believe that God exists in three equal persons, the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Who always was, who is, and who is to come. (John 14:16, Matt. 3:16)
  •   We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  •   We believe that the wages of sin is death and that man is totally unable to save himself, but by the redemptive work of Jesus Christ through His perfect life, death, and resurrection are we able to be reconciled to God and have forgiveness of sin (Romans 5:10-11, 6:23; Titus 3:5).
  •   We believe that our conduct as Christians must align with the principles and guidelines stated in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people–none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
  •   We believe that we were created in God’s image, biologically male and female to glorify Him and be in relationship with Him. (Psalm 139:14; Gen 1:27)
